What will a

Connections Social Skills

session look like for your teen?

Sessions are either 8 weeks or 14 weeks in length. Each meeting of the session runs for 60-minutes and occurs at the community location listed for the specific session.

Your teen will have the chance to learn social skills and practice them in real time in a group format. Homework assignments will be provided for your teen to make the most of their new skills between meetings. The last meeting of each session is reserved to celebrate your teen's growth and hold space for your teen to build connections with members of their group, if they desire.

Connections Social Skills' curriculum draws heavily on the UCLA PEERS Program for Adolescents, as well as from my own programming experience as a Behavior Analyst.

The PEERS Program for Adolescents is an internationally recognized, neuroaffirming, evidence-based social skills curriculum for neurodivergent individuals ages 11-17. It was developed by UCLA's Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson, and aims to build your teen's confidence in their social skills through group activities, discussions, and role-playing.
