What Led Me to A Career in Therapy
Growing up, I was inspired by my oldest cousin, Megan, who's confidence absolutely flourished through support from our family and her therapy providers. When it was time for me to choose a career, I was sure that therapy would be my calling. I've now been in the ABA field for 9 years, have held various roles, and have had the privilege of seeing many clients and their families flourish in their independence and confidence with the right support.
What Led Me to Start Connections Social Skills
There is a lack of connection between the resources available to younger neurodivergent individuals and those available to teenagers and adults. I have written many transition plans that recommend families seek social skills services following - or instead of - intensive ABA services, only to hear that the current resources are overwhelmed. I want to help to make your child's service connection seamless, and help to answer your most pressing question: "What's next?"
Connections Social Skills wants to welcome your teen into one of our group sessions. Your teen will not only learn valuable relationship building skills but will also have the opportunity to experience the joy of maintaining connections throughout their lives. I would be honored to be a small part of building their tool kit to live a confident and fulfilling life.
